Our Grade One classes went to Beaubear's Island on Thursday, June 13th.  We visited the Interpretive Centre, where our tour guide, Cletus, shared a wealth of information with us.  We were able to use audio-video displays, look at scale models, and examine artifacts.  We went over to Beaubear's Island by boat, where we were treated to a guided, historic tour, filled with many surprises.  We learned about the history of the shipbuilding era and the importance it had on this area at that time.  After a picnic lunch, we walked to the Post Office in Nelson, where each student was given a postcard

Small Ball wrapped up last weekend.  We had great numbers all year with about 40 students from K-3 registered. The players really got a taste of a great sport and had a lot of fun in the process.  Next year we are looking at adding to the program by having 3 sessions which will include K-1, 2-3 and 4-5.  It should be great!  A special thanks to all of the players who gave up their Saturday mornings to help the little ones out.  We couldn't have done it without you.  Great to see our older students helping out!

On Friday May 24th several students at NSEE took part in an afternoon of fly-fishing conservation and demonstrations at the Miramichi Eco-Centre. Students were able to practice fly casting, fly-tying, and archery shooting along with presentations on fish conservation by the Miramichi Salmon Association. Students were also given the opportunity to create and tie their own unique fly to take home and try on the mighty waters of the Miramichi.  Congratulations to all of our NSEE students who participated in this wonderful event!

We are so very proud of Lindsay Mutch for being chosen the NSEE Turnaround Achievement Award Winner for 2013! She is now a well adjusted and independent young woman.   She does very well in school, has a great group of friends and a smile that can light up a room.  One of her greatest accomplishments is being involved in the NSEE drama club.  This year she is playing the part of Donna and has a solo singing part in the spring production of Mamma Mia. Congratulations Lindsay for being chosen the 2013 Turnaround Achievement Award winner!!
