This is a reminder/notice to students and parents that Science Tests on "Solar System" have been sent home. Students are asked to please make any corrections on the test, get parents signature, and return to Mr. Henderson by Thursday November 19th. NOTE: Parent Teacher interviews will be conducted on Thursday November 19th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and again on Friday morning November 20th from 9:00 - 11:30 am. There are no scheduled parent meeting therefore meetings will be 10 minutes in length to accommodate all parents wishing to have an interview. Mr. Henderson

This is a note to parents that Science tests will be sent home with your child on Monday November 16th. Students are asked to make any corrections and return the test to me to follow day. Students are now beginning the next unit in grade 6 Science "Variety of Life". There will be investigations in the area of animal kingdoms, natural selection, microbes, and much more. Mr. Henderson

This is a reminder to students and parents that the Cyberspace Power Point Project is due November. 13th.Work is to be done during Tech class however students who have Power Point at home may work on it on their own time. Attached is the assignment details and rubric. Mr. Henderson

Solar System Research Assignement:  Students are asked to complete a "Solar System Research Assignement".  Students have the option of working on this assignemnt individually or with a partner.  Details of the assignment are attached and include picking one planet to research. The due date for the assignment is Nov. 2nd.Good luck grade 6! Mr. Henderson

I would like to welcome back all the grade 6 students and am excited to work with both the students and parents.  I will be teaching Science this year.Attached is the course outline for Science.  Note that this outline is only an approximate but will give you the parent an idea of the long range plan for the entire year. I am looking forward to delivering the grade 6 Science curriculum and if there are any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at the school. All the best! Mr. Henderson

This is a reminder to students and parets that Grade 6 Provincial Assessments will begin on Thursday May 21st.  It is very important that students are well rested and have a good breakfst each morning.  Students are asked to review all concepts in grade 6 Science in preparation for the assessment.  Practice questions will be given to students to familiarize them with the process.   Mr. Henderson

This is a notice to parents and students.  Students have now finished up their unit on "Variety of Life".  A review of the concepts covered is necessary along with all concepts covered over the year.  Students are asked to take the next three weeks to review in preparation for the upcoming Provincial Assessments beginning on May 21st.  There will be inclass review questions and short quizes to prepare the students for the assessment. Classes will also focus on review of prior concepts along with the final unit on "Flight".   Mr. Henderson
Science Homework:Students are asked to complete the mini research assignment on vertebrates for Friday April 24th 2015.  Assignment is attached.

A big congratulations to all the grade 6 students for their hard work and dedication in completing their STEM Fair projects! On Tuesday February 24th each of the classes at NSEE had the opportunity to visit the projects in the Library as part of the school STEM showcase.  Great work grade 6.  Have a fun March Break! Mr. Henderson

This is a notice to students and parents the STEM Fair projects are now due.  Students must bring their projects to the school where they will be on display in the library over the next 3-4 school days.  Grade 6 students will have a chance present their projects to each of the classes during class visits. Each student must present their project for judging based on district look-fors.  Projects may qualify to go to the district fair in March.  Details to follow. NOTE:  Students in grade 6 will begin the next unit "Variety of Life" following March break.  In this unit students will explore micro-organisms, kingdoms, and classification of living things.

This is a reminder to grade 6 students that they must have their display boards brought in by Wednesday January 21st.  Science Fair projects will need to be completed by Friday February 13th 2015.  Projects will be presented the week of February 16th.  Extra time will be permitted if necessary.   Below are useful document in helping complete the project!
