We are learning about the letter Ff! The Zoophonics animal to go along with the letter is Francy Fish. We found words that begin with the letter Ff. Some are body parts: feet, fingers, fist. Some are animals that begin with the letter f (frogs, fish, foxes). Listen to the Storybots and see what /f/ words they found: is external)  Sesame Street has a funny Letter f video too: is external) Remember to keep practice printing the letter too!

Fun with The Alphabet for Kindergarten and Grade 1!

Kindergarten has met the Zoophonics animals that will help us learn the alphabet. Here is a fun song to do with the animal actions. As we practice each day your child will know them better. Grade 1 students are paying close attention to the hard working vowels - their sounds are tricky after the summer break!

Kindergarten knows lots about sorting in math class so we will be patterning like our Grade 1 buddies! Both grades may want to check out this You Tube link for a colleion of pattern videos: is external) We will be making and extending patterns with sound, pictures and real life objects
We met Missy Mouse - our Zoophonics friend who helps us learn about the Letter Mm and its sound. We checked out the M box that was full of things that had the sound/m/at the start - money, mittens, mirror,... The children also heard lots of words that start with m-m-m-m when they watched these videos. See how many you can name when the video is over. Maybe you can find a mini marshmallow to eat for each M word? is external) is external)

Rhyming Fun!

We have been having a great time rhyming! Your child can show you how well they are doing by playing with Reggie Rhino. Grade 1 can watch the spellings and notice how rhyming words often have the same endings. Cool!
