The Power of Giving
The first moments after we get a new toy, game, phone or bike we become very excited and happy. We can’t part with it, it’s all we can think about! But not long after, we notice that the “thing” doesn’t bring us as much joy as before. How come the happiness from new toys does not last? Well, it is because long lasting happiness never comes from “things.” How can we make happiness last for a long time? By looking for happiness in places other than toys and things.
Reminder that we are collecting for World Vision this year instead of purchasing gifts for teachers and staff members. If you wish to contribute please send money to your child’s teacher by Thursday.
On December 15 the Grade 5S students will be having a used book slae in the school cafeteria from 11:30 am - 12:45 pm. There will be books for all ages, and all are welcome. The students in grade 5S will be running the book sale. All money raised will go towards buying new library furniture, so come to our sale and help a great cause!
Parents in School District 16 are reminded that a public consultation on the review of the entry point of early French immersion will be held at St. Andrews Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14th. Parents play a significant role in the development of their children and are encouraged to participate in this public session. NSEE recently received an outdoor shed (12’ x 24’) built by the skilled hands of Mr. Richard Gionet and his students at James M. Hill.
The purpose of the shed is to house our newly acquired mountain bikes, snowshoes, skis, and various outdoor equipment. This will be beneficial for student’s health and wellness in a time where physical fitness is of the utmost importance.
A big thank you to the Home and School for their support on this important project!!
