Mrs. Flanagan's Grade 4 class led our Food Bank drive this year. Each week they collected different food items. When a student brought in a food item they were given a ballot for draws for random prizes. In all the students collected over 25 boxes of groceries that were taken to the District 16 office to be delivered to the food bank
When our Grade 6's heard about a Grade 5 student at Gretna Green Elementary who required brain surgury, they decided they wanted to help. They had a bake sale last month to raise money for the student's family to help with medical expenses.
Together they raised $250.00. Two Grade 6 students, Sydney Matchett and Seth Corner presented the student with the cheque on Wednesday, December 1, 2010.
Bring your parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, EVERYBODY. Come one come all. Donations accepted at the door. Our Sunny Corner Volunteer Fire Department is anxiously waiting to cook you the best pancakes in the neighbourhood. Hope to see you there. FREE pictures with Santa. There will also be a silent auction to help raise funds for the grade 5 class trip.
