NSEE students were very successful during the three mountain bike races hosted by ASD-North schools over the past four weeks.  A big congratulations goes out to the following students who finished in the top three at the finale hosted by Gretna Green: Liam Travis 1st Grade 4 BoysAyden Lynch 3rd Grade 4 BoysCarter Young 1st Grade 5 Boys A special congratulations goes to Haylee Comeau Ward won won the grade prize of a new Mountain Bike.  Congratulations Haylee!

The ASD-N Spelling  Bee was hosted at Croft Elementary School on Friday May 29th. A total of nine elementary schools participated including Croft, Gretna Green, NSEE, Blackville, Harkins, Tabusintac, Millerton, Nelson and Eel Ground.  NSEE students took home first place honours in both the Grade 3 and Grade 5 categories along with a second place finish at grade 2.

The NSEE Bass Fishing Tournament is now in full swing.  Students from Kindergarten to grade 6 can participate.  The tournamnet runs from May 11 until May 31st.  For each bass caught, a students name will be entered on a ballot for a chance to win several fishing prizes.Prizes include:  fishing rods, tackle box, binoculars, reels, and much more.NSEE is encouraging parents to take the tme to get out with their children and enjoy some awesome fishing on the Mighty Miramichi River! Good Luck to everyone!

On Friday May 15th students, staff, and community members were given a special treat as the RCMP helicopter landed in front of the school as part of National Police Week.  Students had a chance to see the helicopter, listen to a presentation by the air pilots and have pictures taken.The entrie NSEE community thanks Shelley Donahue (RCMP community Liasion) for organizing and making this possible!  Please visit the image gallery for more pictures.

NSEE will be taking part in "National Police Week from May 10th - 15th".  On Thursday May 14th 2015 members of the RCMP Blackville Detachment along with their K9 unit and Public Safety off road vehicles sector will be at the school to conduct presentations. Students and staff are very excited in anticipation of this day.  At 10:00 am on Thursday May 14th the RCMP helicopter will be landing at the school!  Everyone is encouraged to attend.  Tours and demonstrations will take place along with the K9 dog demonstrations. Hope to see you there!

On Thursday May 7th ASD-North celebrated their annual Turnaround Awards.  NSEE is very proud as Essa Matchett was recognized for his hard work, determination, and dedication to his studies.Congratulations Essa for being selected for the North & South Esk Turnaround Award!

The Miramichi Track and Field Club will once again be offering the Run, Jump, Throw 12 Challenge Series.  For this series, youth aged 5 to 12 are invited to participate in 4 evenings of 12 Challenges, which are planned for Mondays - starting May 11, 18, 25, June 1st and final meet on June 9th at the James M Hill track in Miramichi.  Three different track and field events are scheduled every week for a total of 12 events (hence the name of the program). The instructors will be trained Run, Jump, Throw instructors. Categories will be: Kindergarten to grade 2 students – 6:00 PM to 7:15

Several students from grades 3, 4, 5 who play on the NSEE floor hockey team were treated to a big surprise on Tuesday April 28th.   Current NHL player and Miramichi native Brad Malone was a special guest referee.  Students from both Saint Andrew's and NSEE had the chance to meet Brad and get photos with him before and after the game.  It was a great moment for the students to have Brad take the time to be a part of their day!
