We will be having our Fall Fair again this year on the evening of Friday, October 26th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The staff and student leaders will host this event. In the past, it has proven to be a very enjoyable time for the children as well as a time for parents to meet and chat. Parents who are available to volunteer at the Fair are asked to contact the school. All students must be accompanied by an adult. Students will be able to pre-purchase game tickets (25cents) prior to the Fair, and tickets will also be sold at the door.
National Tree Day serves as a celebration for all Canadians to appreciate the great benefits that trees provide us - clean air, wildlife habitat, reducing energy demand and connecting with nature. The kindergarten classes at North & South Esk Elementary celebrated National Tree Day by planting an oak tree beside their school. Breakfast is an important factor in student achievement and learning. But we know many students skip this first meal of the day for many reasons -- from having an early morning bus, to sleeping in or choosing not to eat because they don't like to eat when they first get up. School breakfast programs are a great way to ensure that all students have the opportunity for a healthy start to the day.
NSEE is happy to announce that the 2012-2013 school year will see us start a breakfast for learning program, available to all students.
We all know that the body we have is the one we have to live in...so let's make it the best one we can! NSEE will be hosting an evening Walking Club beginning on Tuesday, October 2nd. Instead, from 6:30-8:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday nights, come to NSEE and get your daily exercise, and add to the impact by walking the stairs! The $2 user fee will help fund NSEE Breakfast Program. Everyone is welcome!
