We continue to discuss ways to "go green". Today a sheet went home with a challenge for students to do at least one green activity each day. We are still looking for a picture from each student. So far, I have a picture from: Collin, Jax and Marianne. Please send or email one to me this week. Thanks!

As you can see the children did an awesome job with their paintings! It took us several weeks but it was worth it. I told the kids that they should be very proud...frame them and you have a beautiful piece of artwork for a bedroom!

As part of our You & Your World curriculum we have been talking about our environment for quite some time. This week we started discussing ways to protect the environment. There are so many things that each person, no matter how small, can do to help. Families can work together to make a difference and have some fun doing it. Below are some links for games and activities to explore together! Earth day is on April 22nd this year - a note will be sent home on Monday regarding a little project!

What a fantastic day! The primary students were outside all morning, taking part in various winter sports. The weather was perfect and the students were excellent. Ask your child to tell you all about curling, hockey, soccer, sliding, snowshoeing and free-play!

We had a great 100th day of school! We were very busy all day counting to 100 in a variety of ways (2's, 5's, 10's, 25's), showing our 100th day projects, eating the number 100 (yum!), cupstacking for 100 seconds, making gumball machines with 100 gumballs and lots more. Be sure to ask your child...

We have been talking about hibernation at school and it is amazing how different each animal is. The students took home a sheet to record information about 1 animal that hibernates. Here are a few videos that we watched at school. They can use the animals mentioned here or find some others. We will be using their information for a "Show and Tell" time on Monday!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm6uUpF0p5U (great information on various animals)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BstmnCYwAE8 (song)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcl4FwsKDSghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

Vowel Bat!
We have been reviewing our short vowel sounds a lot! This is a favorite song in our class. Please continue, on a daily basis, to review the short vowel sounds (especially a and e).
