All students will be walking to school from the end of the road tomorrow (Wednesday, October 9). Please dress your child appropriately with sneakers and a warm jacket. If you drive your child to school please drop them off at the base of the road.

We have been having "Funny Fridays" all year. On Friday we have a joke of the day - the kids are really enjoying these! They keep forgetting to share them at home so I told them I would try to remember to post the joke each Friday. I won't put the answer in the hopes that they remember the punch line! Here is todays:

We have been preparing for Thanksgiving all week. We have made crafts, read stories, wrote about what we are thankful for and sang some songs about turkeys! This song is a favorite. Have your child sing it to you.

Number Word Memory
This week we began our unit Numbers to 20. We have spent some time looking at the different ways to show a number (with materials, numerals and number words). This is a great game to help students remember the number words for each numeral from 1-6. Have fun matching!

This week we will be working with the "ad" word family. We will practice at school but be sure to review the words at home as well. It is a good idea to signal them using our Zoo phonics actions but also try writing them on paper to get ready for our quiz on Friday! The words are: dad, fad, lad, mad, sad, bad, pad, glad

We have been talking about vowels and how important they are. Did you know that there is at least one vowel in every English word! Wow, they are so important. Keep reviewing the vowels (a, e, i, o, u and sometimes y). Here is a fun video that we used last week in class. See if you can sing along and keep up with those vowel sounds!
