The children loved working with tangrams in math class today. They are able to make shapes out of the tangram pieces. They have a paper tangram square in their take-home folders in case you want to do some activities with the shapes. We keep learning more sight words! This week we are focusing on "went" because we see it in our books and we need to write it often too.

We can draw a rabbit!
With Easter so close we are learning about rabbits. We learned to draw a rabbit today by following the steps on this You Tube Video: How to Draw a Rabbit. Your child may want to try at home.

We are learning about 3D shapes
Both the Grade 1 and Kindergarten are learning about 3D shapes. Here is a great link for learning their names and where we find the shapes in our environment. We are also practicing using describing words to talk about the shapes,their sides and faces, and how they move: curved, flat, straight, point, corners, smooth, solid, slide, roll, topple....
