The kindergarten kids are learning about 3D shapes so they can pretend to be elves in Santa's Workshop!We are talking about and looking at the sides, edges, corners, etc. of 3D shapes and finding lots of classroom objects that are similar. We are learning to use words like straight, curved, point, top, corners, edges, hollow, solid, roll and flat in order to play I spy and to explain sorting rules. We have noticed that some 3D shapes have triangles, rectangles, circles and squares on their sides! Can your child point out the cylinders, cones, cubes and rectangular prisms? We had fun talking about the terms before and after today. The children could answer questions like what do you do before you get out of bed? (Wake Up) and What do you do after you go to bed? (Go to sleep) Have fun with this at home - before/after supper? before/after playing?

Wow! We heard and found the letter r all over the place!
