Xavier Fox is our Zoophonics animal for the letter X. We could not find many words that start with X, but we could write some with X at the end! Ask your child to spell fox, box, fix, six, ax, and ox - I bet they can do it! Challenge them with the word EXIT. The kindergarten kids are learning about 3D shapes so they can pretend to be elves in Santa's Workshop!We are talking about and looking at the sides, edges, corners, etc. of 3D shapes and finding lots of classroom objects that are similar. We are learning to use words like straight, curved, point, top, corners, edges, hollow, solid, roll and flat in order to play I spy and to explain sorting rules. We have noticed that some 3D shapes have triangles, rectangles, circles and squares on their sides! Can your child point out the cylinders, cones, cubes and rectangular prisms?
