Making Tens"War"        One player shuffles the deck. Use "Rock,Paper,Scissors" to decide who goes first.Players take turns revealing the top card from deck as they draw. They have 3 seconds to say the number that adds with the amount on their card to add to ten. If they take longer than 3 seconds, or say the wrong amount, the opponent gets the card. Play until all cards are used up.Then each player counts the total number of cards they have.Whoever has the most cards wins.

We learned a new "Making Ten" game today using dice: You'll need a piece of paper to tally scores. Make a "T" chart.1. One person rolls all 5 dice and makes pairs with dice that add to ten. Each pair earns one point.2. The second player rolls and tries to find their number pairs that add to ten.The first person who reaches 5 points wins the game.

Tonight your job is to play " Make Tens Go Fish" for 10 minutes.Everyone will have a baggie with the needed supplies to play in their black (homework)"Banana" bag.  Here is a video example of how to play:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCh5jyd25R0First one to get rid of all cards is the winner! Game Rules:Each player takes 5 cards and looks at them. The extra cards are placed in a pile between the two partners. Each player matches up any pairs they have already in their hands and lays them on the table in front of them. For this game, pairs are not matching 1 with 1 or 2 with 2. Instead pairs are made by matching the two numbers that, when put together, make ten! The only time two of the same numbers will be matched together will be when 5 and 5 are matched up because 5 and 5 make ten. If the other player does not have the card you need to make ten, then you "go fish" and pick up a card from the extra card pile. Keep playing until you run out of cards or until all the cards from the extra card pile are gone!

For the March Break, students are asked to read as often as they can. I will be sending home a math facts sheet, which they should practice with an adult as often as they can. The first day back is Monday, March 10. It won't be a Gym day. Skating starts on Wednesday, March 12, so get your gear ready! All students must have a helmet. Check your schedule for Drama or Mad Science dates. Student Agendas were kept at the school for the break. Sleep in when you can!   Hope everyone has a great break!
