Grade 5 Math

Day 2

10 Minutes- Warm up & Mental math:

Students can work on “Power Builder B” (the bottom part of their sheet 2 in their package).

We have done these in the classroom already so it should be just practice.

Students can also work on their multiplication or division facts on www.multiplication.com or using flash cards or a regular deck of cards (just flip over 2 cards and multiply them) or roll a set of dice and multiply them.

20 Minutes- Lesson:

Students can do sheet #3 in their package. It is the second page of the “N2 Task Card Building Block D”

This is a continuation of yesterday’s work.

Students should make the number an easier (friendly) number and then solve it.

For example:  6703 + 2148 becomes 7000 + 2000=9000
