We read the story Sadie and The Snowman today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKu844jfNGk

Sadie built a snowman over and over again with lots of different things. We looked at the shapes on a snowman and learned the rules for our "Roll a Snowman" game.

Check out this cool video we are watching to learn those tricky shape names: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cg-Uc556-Q Can you find more shapes for each type around the house? Do you build with any of them? In class we are learning to describe them by using words like curved, straight, flat, corner, point, edge, side, face, and the shapes of the sides (triangles, rectangles, circles and squares).

Here is a link to a great site for fun games to practice letters over the holidays. https://pbskids.org/games/abc/ Which one is your child's favorite? Check out Alpha Pig's Alpha bricks where you need to stop the wolf from blowing down the pig's house. Another fun one is Alphabet Falls where duck catches letters and gets treasure.

We checked out this game today and the children loved it. It is great for building attention and memory skills - like the hands on version you may play. http://www.uptoten.com/kids/kidsgames-mixedbag-winterpairs.html
