Notes

Hello parents,

Just a little heads-up note to let you know about our homework routine. You've been doing a great job in signing your child's homework  agenda each night! Thank you! We set aside a dedicated time every day to copy the night's homework, and we pack this agenda in the zippered case you'll find in their backpack...(we call it their Banana Bag!) If you're not sure what to do, can you please check the agenda nightly, and initial or sign in the space on the right of that day's date? Please also be aware that I usually get the students to put notices and papers in the clear page protector at the front of the agenda. This is also a great place to put any notes you may have for me!

Did you know that research has found that the single best method for improving student reading is to ...just read? How easy is that? I have started to give your child reading at home for 15 minutes each night as regular reading homework. I am encouraging them to find a book that they love and give it a go.They may take books from the class or school library, or read from books at home or public library, too. It isn't necessary to record the book title or details about the reading time for me.  Happy Reading everyone!

We're into our third week and things are going great! We are working on learning the routines of the class, and for the Grade Threes, learning new things about being upstairs. Thanks to families for sending in the Student Info. /Field Trip and Media forms, as well as the 60$ Student Fee. Please don't hesitate to contact me by phoning the school or jotting a note if you have any questions or concerns. I check the homework agendas daily if you'd like to put your notes there.
