Welcome Back to School Grade 6!!

          T'was the night before school startedWhen all through the townThe parents were cheeringIt was a riotous sound! By eight the kids were washedAnd tucked into bed,While memories of homeworkFilled them with dread. New pencils, new folders,New notebooks, too,New teachers, new friends,Their anxiety grew. The parents just giggledWhen they learned of this fright,And shouted upstairs -GO TO BED!IT'S A SCHOOL NIGHT!

Farewell Grade 6 (A note to grade 6s)

Wow! Where has the time gone?? Just a few notes about this week: Yesterday we went to visit NSER.  Ms. Murphy and Mr. Mutch took us on a tour and answered some questions for us. NSER gave us a supply list and a pamplet that will be with your child's report card Mr. Ryder is missing a lot of novels "The Hand of Robin's Squire" and other textbooks.  Can you have a look around for these items. We will be playing ball this week bring a ballglove We will be watching a movie tomorrow, so bring in some treats Thursday will be a full day.  If you will not be staying the whole day, please send a note. It has been a great year!!  We will miss everyone next year!! Good luck in Grade 7!!

Homework for Monday, June 12 (6M and 6R)

Homework:  6M & 6R  Reading-   Read 20 minutes Literacy-   All novel work is due if you haven't already passed it in     Math-   Get math test signed!  Science-     French-   Other- Practice your dance!  Go look at my web link            - Bring your ball glove for gym this week            -  Grade 6 Field Trip on Friday.  Cost is $6.  Bring in your money (A note will go home tomorrow!)            -  Go check out the video on our site re: Blue Suede Paws songs

Homework:  6M & 6R  Reading-   Read 20 minutes Literacy-   Continue working on novel work.  All novel work is due this Friday! Quiz on novel chapters 1-14 Friday!     Math-   Math test on Friday! :) "Transformations" and finish "Extra Practice #4" sheet for homework.  Some kids have not finished their math homework this week.  The test on Friday is not a hard one but you have to know how to do the questions.  Science-    French-   Other- Practice your dance!  Go look at my web link             - Return Grade 6 Banquet forms and money (purple sheet) if you havne't done so.             - Gym tomorrow (6D)             - Peacemaker Trip tomorrow (White sheet went home last week)

Homework:  6M & 6R  Reading-   Read 20 minutes Literacy-        Math-  Finish "Extra Practice #6/  Math Test next Wednesday, May 23!!  Science- Predict how objects move through water   French-    *** Tomorrow we are having a drama "Dress Rehearsal" from 12:45 until 2 pm for the school.  Please bring in all of your costumes and props!  Other:  - Bring coins for Peth Andover fundraiser!!  All spare change will be welcomed! - -  Some students owe sport fees to NSER ($25)...ask your child if he/she is one of them!

Homework for Friday, May 11th (6M and 6R)

Homework:  6M & 6R  Reading-   Read 20 minutes Literacy-  Finish one activity to go along with book for "Author's Night"               -  Some students have not finished the report on Oak Island- It was due last Monday!       Math-   Science- Finish Cover page on "Flight"  and get test signed         French-  *** Tomorrow we are having a drama "Dress Rehearsal" from 2 until 4 pm (instead of Saturday!!) A note and a voisemail was sent home today...go read the details!! :) Other:  - Bring coins for Peth Andover fundraiser!!  All spare change will be welcomed! - 6R has gym on Friday!  - Great job on the "Author's Night"!  Congratulations to all of our Grade 6 students. -  Today we went to NSER and had a visit from a special guest...ask your child about it! -  Some students owe sport fees to NSER ($25)...ask your child if he/she is one of them!

Homework:  6M & 6R  Reading-   Read 20 minutes Literacy-  Finish one activity to go along with book for "Author's Night"               -  Finish poster (Ad for the "Author Night")               - Bring a new binder (If you didn't already bring one)               - Work on report on Oak Island (due May 7) Monday               - Work on cartoon art project  Math-  Finish # 1-3, Page 265 Science- Study for Science test (on Wednesday) on "Electricity"          French-    Other:  - Bring coins for Peth Andover fundraiser!!  All spare change will be welcomed! -6R has gym on Monday, Wednesday and Friday!  -6M has gym on Tuesday and Thursday! - On Tuesday evening from 6-7:30, everyone is invited to the library to see a display of books written and illustrated by the grade 6 students.  We hope to see everyone there!!
