Hello to Letter H and Unstoppable U!

Posted: December 2, 2012

What a fun week! We sang "I'm H-A-P-P-Y" while learning Honey Horse's H sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV0CblTeRzs We even found the letter H showing us the way to the hospital! Be sure to look for the green H sign when you are driving about with your child. We practiced making our letter h tall enough so it doesn't look like a letter n - tricky letters! We were very interested in looking at video of real umbrella birds that live in the tropics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZVocLe8kBs The umbrella bird song was very catchy and many students are practicing the moves. Sadly, Mrs. Hendry found it difficult to carry the tune even with the ukulele to strum. The children were eager to tell me a word that starts with U so they could have a turn. http://www.toontube.com/video/309/The-Umbrella-Bird-Song We are noticing the letter U in the middle of lots of words. This word- building song was lots of fun! Can your child do it with the volume off? Pause it to give them time to blend the letter sounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8xKixF1_-c And the popular Storybots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCwiFQh3BZk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk5M7jITfIU
