All Novel Study work will be due Monday June 11th. Chapters 1-19 Questions, Vocabulary and Summaries Character Sketches and Plot Diagram/ Summary Only Summaries are needed for chapters 20-25.

Basketball Camp Advertisement   Crandall University’s Men’s Basketball Head Coach Matthew Sweezey and Miramichi Valley High Schools Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach Philip Bremner will be running a summer basketball day camp from August 13-17 in Miramichi at the MVHS Gymnasium open to all kids in middle school and high school. There will be current and past CCAA and CIS players who will be camp counselors to help campers’ master skills. The camp will run from 9:30 am – 4pm Monday to Thursday with a one hour lunch from 12 - 1pm. Friday will be a half day that will run from  9:30 am- 1pm to accommodate people who plan on traveling for the weekend.  The cost is $150 per camper and each camper. To register, contact Matthew Sweezey at: matt.sweezey@crandallu.ca or by phone 251-1281. Campers should register early to ensure their spot in the camp. Campers are asked to bring a lunch and water bottle each day.

Grade 5,6 and 7 girls who are interested in playing Middle School basketball next year should come out to Monday practices at NSEE starting at 3:00 and ending at 4:30.  We will spend the first half of practice on basic skills and end with a scrimmage every Monday until the end of our school year. It will be a great opportunity for the girls to gain a few new skills!  First practice is Monday, May 28th.  Hope to see you there!

Literacy-  Because most students are very busy with the play I will not be assigning any new homework. Students should be finished chapter 3 questions, vocabulary and summaries.  They can start to complete the plot diagram and some character sketches. Next week I will be assigning chapters 6-10 for homework if students would like to get a jump start over the weekend. Thank you for all of the snacks on our Artisitic Authors night that took place last week.  You can find an article about our project in the Miramichi Leader published today.

Literacy- Read               Bring your Book               Bring other materials to display that go along with the theme of your book.               Bring other activities that the younger students would enjoy.                                         If you can, bring a snack for the evening celebration 6:00-7:30.                            The History of Oak Island Report- Due today.  You will have to go to learning lunch if it is not                            passed in on Thursday.

On Tuesday, May 8th the grade 6 classes will be hosting a celebration for their published books.  The students have been asked to bring a small snack or beverage to the evening session for our guests.  We have 30 students so it doesn't have to be anything large; just a little something to add to the celebration. I thank you all in advance for your help and hope that you can visit.
