EQUIPMENT: Playing cards Ace (= 1) through 9 GETTING STARTED: Shuffle deck and place in pile face down. Dealer deals one card face down to each player. Count together: "3..2..1.." and flip the cards face up. Players add the total of the two cards silently in their head. First person to say correct total wins the two cards. They make their own “captured” pile. Play continues until all of the cards on deck pile are played. Winner is player with the most captured cards.

Tonight your job is to play " Addition War" for at least 5 minutes.Everyone will have a personal baggie with a set of cards from one to nine. Game Rules:Dealer deals one card to each player. The extra cards are placed in a pile to the side. Players count: "Three... two...one... turn!" and then turn over their cards at the same time, laying them flat on the table. The first player to correctly add both cards and call out the correct sum gets to "capture" both cards.Deal another round and repeat.Keep playing until you run out of cards. Then add your cards. The player with the most is the winner.

Tonight your job is to play " Make Tens Go Fish" for at least 5 minutes.Everyone will have a personal baggie with a set of cards from one to nine. Here is a video example of how to play:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCh5jyd25R0First one to get rid of all cards is the winner! Game Rules:Each player takes 5 cards and looks at them. The extra cards are placed in a pile between the two partners. Each player matches up any pairs they have already in their hands and lays them on the table in front of them. For this game, pairs are not matching 1 with 1 or 2 with 2. Instead pairs are made by matching the two numbers that, when put together, make ten! The only time two of the same numbers will be matched together will be when 5 and 5 are matched up because 5 and 5 make ten. If the other player does not have the card you need to make ten, then you "go fish" and pick up a card from the extra card pile. Keep playing until you run out of cards or until all the cards from the extra card pile are gone

We have Gym every second day from 2:00-3:00,and Mr. Henderson is our Gym Teacher this year. Because of time restrictions, we are encouraging students to wear comfy clothes on Gym days, rather than bringing a change of clothing.
