Maritime Marionettes visit NSEE

Posted: April 7, 2010

This morning Maritime Marionettes, a Nova Scotia based marionette theatre company visited and performed for the students of NSEE.  The performance this morning was Molly and the Oak Island Treasure and was well received by students and staff alike.  The play features a young girl Molly who goes off in search of treasure spoke of by her Uncle Peg.  Accompanied by her faithful fairy friend Pixie, Molly sets forth on an adventure where she meets a young Mik'maq boy, Ulgoimo.  The play has a rich maritime theme and atmosphere and is wonderfully accentuated by the music of The Barra MacNeil's.  At play's end, one of the puppeteers entertained questions from students and it was evident that the children were engaged and enthused about this wonderful production. You can find out more about the Maritime Marionnettes and their productions at:http://www.maritime-marionettes.com/
