Visiting our Local Seniors

Posted: May 17, 2021

Our Grade 5 students enjoyed delivering the ‘Spring Bunnies’ they made for some special Seniors in our community. Thanks to the NSER Rotary for leading & organizing the special connection made this year.

A Note from Adam Hayward, Technology Lead

I wanted to take a moment to say how impressed I am with Amelia and her team of students from NSER. I was very touched to see the impact this project had on the seniors living in the home in Sunny Corner. They couldn't say enough about the connections that were made and how they looked forward to receiving the care packages, letters, and crafts from the students on a regular basis this year. The Interact Club of NSER and Mrs. Taylor's class are to be commended for working hard to let our seniors know that people in the community are thinking of them during this global pandemic.

Amelia and Team,
Excellent work on this project. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of the culminating event where the students finally met their penpals (albeit socially distanced). It was a wonderful morning that was very well organized and thoroughly planned to ensure the safety of all involved.
Well done!
